The Indigo Abyss

Deep within each of us lies the Indigo Abyss. It is a sacred place of truth, where boundaries and belief systems are transformed. I entered it within myself to write my first book, soul seeds. It is where I have always found my highest guidance, made my best decisions and known the most peace. So, it is the place I will go to feed this blog.

Discovered in solitude, nurtured by silence, the Indigo Abyss holds the divine spring that flows through the darkened canyons of our unconscious, everyday mind and connects us as one. It ignites our spirit, offering all who enter guidance on the miraculous journey through life. With all its uncertainty, this is a time of extraordinary opportunity and tremendous blessing. We can change our world if we are willing to change ourselves. Eat Healthy. Be Kind. Create. Try to spend a little time every day unplugged from your cell phone, your computer, and your TV. Walk in nature. Touch what you love.

Both individually and collectively, we are engaged in an unprecedented moment of transformation. Something is not quite right. Much of what we believed to be true has proven to be an illusion or a lie. We grasp at worn ideas and institutions that comforted us in the past but now feel empty, abandoned by promise. Disconnected from each other, we are alone as never before, and must change if we are to grow.

We are all a little scared. Too many people are suffering. We like to think that it is not us but someone else who carries these burdens. But deep within, we know the truth. Maybe it’s time to admit our fears, share the suffering, and come together to discover solutions to the same challenges we created together.

The answer lies in the simplest of places, forgotten for fear or judgment or ambition. It is such a quiet place in our noisy world that we no longer trust it. Instead, we have surrendered to the external chatter of technology and culture. We’ve lost the beauty of what we share here, searching for the differences we wield to separate instead of appreciate. It is our heart that is calling us home now. Along with the greatness of what we are when we listen to it.

The Indigo Abyss exists for those who have begun to awaken from the slumber of an unconscious, unexamined life and seek a safe haven. I don’t know what it will become, who will find their way here or if it will matter to anyone but me. It is sure to be imperfect. Still, I was compelled to create this place, turn on a light and wait on the porch. Ultimately, I hope it becomes a sanctuary for those who are turning on their own light, ready to take charge of their lives, open their hearts and participate in a more meaningful, loving world.

Recently, a friend sent me this story:

An elder Cherokee chief took his grandchildren into the forest and sat them down and said to them, "A fight is going on inside of me. This is a terrible fight and it is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is the wolf of fear, anger, arrogance and greed. The other wolf is the wolf of courage, kindness, humility and love." The children were very quiet, listening to their grandfather with both their ears. He then said to them, "This same fight between the two wolves that is going on inside of me is going on inside of you, and inside of every person." They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked the chief, "Grandfather, which wolf will win the fight?" He said quietly, "The one you feed.”

Sometimes I will speak from my heart…sometimes from my head…sometimes from my soul. Whatever arises in the depths of the Indigo Abyss, I will share with you as honestly as I can. And I hope you will share your thoughts with me.

as i sit here in delaware and i think of you in ny and what youve been through and how youve persevered to get to the place you are -- i am so happy and fortunate to have you in my life. im so proud of you!
ive been thinking just now--
this site will bring your efforts to connect to people to another level. it makes it official, accessible and as concise or broad as you want your interaction to be. as spontaneous or thought-through. as directly relevant or as out there as i know you can be.
it is alive and you can put on it whatever you want! its exciting--next time youre lying awake at 2am instead of sending an e-mail you can put out a blog to the world.
where does the word BLOG come from?
i was listening to cds from sonia choquette last night, about opening your heart...youd love it
she says-- "everyone loves a lover"

Hi Lynnda,

I read this on your site: "We have forgotten our true selves, disconnected from each other."

How true this is, in the age of blackberry and second life, we are moving further and further apart from our essence and from each other...

However, the work we do, to connect first to our soul, then to share that revelation with those around us hold the potential to change the world.

All my best,

Lynnda,
I was VERY impresssed with your site. I lost my Mom in 1999 (11/27 for all intents and purposes), and My life is currently in flux.
I HAVE FOUND MY PURPOSE, which is a blessing, but I feel VERY cut-off, lonely, and adrift.
I feel less so knowing you are in the World.

Thanks,
Will

Your site is wonderful! There is such a clarity when real purpose is present and since it's in your soul, it's in your words and this will be a connecting inspiration for so many.

We've hit such a critical mass in this country of despair, mistrust and loneliness and we all want to walk toward a light of nouishment for ourselves, each other and our very planet.

Lynnda, like you said, we cannot change others, only ourselves. Thank you for giving me a venue to express this and maybe we can all make a difference!

Love to you, Linda
